About this course

Many people know that Jesus died for our sins. However, they have not understood what else Jesus accomplished. Our redemption did not end at Jesus death (for us). That was just the beginning of what our Lord accomplished on our behalf. Christians have heard that we died and were buried ‘with Christ’ (Romans 6:1-11), but have not been taught the reality of resurrection with Christ and seating in heavenly places. As a result, while Christians understand Jesus paid the price for sin, they have not understood the position God has given us in Christ. Ephesians reveals the extent that our redemption in Christ includes and shows us sitting in heavenly places.

Ephesians 6:2

‘and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus’. This course examines what it means to be seated together in heavenly places in Christ.

  • Did God create humans to be ruled over by death?
  • Is it God’s plan that we live at the mercy of negative circumstances?
  • Has God given us any means to rise above these things or are we supposed to just suffer with them through this life?
  • Are we supposed to just be ‘mere pawns’ in life with no control over anything, at the mercy of life, battered around and knocked side to side by situations?
  • Is that the standard the New Testament gives us for believers?
  • What is God’s plan for the church on the earth today? Does God intend for the church to have authority?

The Sons of God / Children of God

Romans 8:16-17

16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. The Bible connects position in the family of God with being heirs for God and joint heirs with Christ, and also shows this being connected to authority and dominion. This course will explore what being a son of God means.

Jesus, our example

  • Is Jesus an example for us to follow in the area of authority?
  • Can we do the works that He did, the same way He did them?

Reign in Life

Romans 5:17

17 For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.) Romans tells us that we are to ‘reign in life’. What does this mean and how do we reign?

Resist the devil

James 5:7

7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Is it true that ‘we’, believers, can resist the devil and he will flee from US? The Word says so. This course will look at what the New Testament shows us about resisting the devil and him fleeing from believers.

The Believer’s Authority

  • Do believers have God given authority?
  • Is the authority of the believer for all believers today?

This course will study the subject of dominion and the Believer’s authority, looking at the scriptural basis for authority.
