The Holy Spirit

This course will help clarify the Biblical teachings about the Holy Spirit, who He is and the role He plays in our lives, in order to clear up confusion in the Body of Christ about a number of issues and to help being scriptural clarity.

In addition, this course will provide you with scriptural answers to give other Christians and help you know how to help others concerning this topic. It is important that we understand the Bible about the Holy Spirit and can give other Christians clear scriptural answers to the questions they have.

This course will cover topics like:

  • Is the Holy Spirit still important, relevant and active today?
  • Who is the Holy Spirit?
  • Is the Holy Spirit ‘God’?
  • The Father, Son and Holy Spirit: Is the Trinity Scriptural?
  • Biblical Emblems and Symbols for the Holy Spirit
  • Scriptural Names for the Holy Spirit
  • The Holy Spirit in the Old Testament, the life of Jesus and the New Testament
  • The Holy Spirit in the life of the Believer
  • What did Jesus say about the Holy Spirit?
  • What is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit and is it unforgiveable?
  • and more

The Role of the Holy Spirit in Salvation

  • Does someone who is saved (has received Jesus) but not been Baptised in the Holy Spirit ‘have the Holy Spirit’?
  • What does the Holy Spirit do in the life of a Believer at salvation?

Confusion in the Church about the Holy Spirit

Many people who have received Jesus get confused when they hear about the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. This leads to questions like:

  • I know I’ve experienced the Holy Spirit, but I’m not baptised in the Spirit and I don’t speak in tongues. I’m confused when people talk about the Baptism of the Spirit and feel like they are telling me I don’t have the Holy Spirit.
  • If I have Received Jesus, but not been baptised in the Spirit, am I saved?
  • If I do not speak in tongues, am I still a Christian?
  • If I’m a Christian and have not been baptised in the Spirit, do I have the Holy Spirit in my life?
  • Is it necessary to be baptised in the Spirit in order to be led by the Spirit and have the Holy Spirit within me?

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit

  • How many Baptisms are there for Christians? I’ve heard there is only ‘one baptism’, but am confused because some Christians talk about Baptism in water, Baptism in the Spirit. This sounds like more than one baptism to me!
  • Is the Baptism of the Holy Spirit separate to salvation or does it all happen at the same time?
  • Is the Baptism of the Spirit important and for us today? Is it even necessary?
  • How to help someone receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit
  • Is the Baptism of the Holy Spirit just a ‘Pentecostal’ doctrine?

Speaking in Tongues

  • Do all who are Baptised in the Spirit speak in tongues?
  • Is Tongues for today?
  • Is speaking in Tongues for all believers or just some?
  • Do some Christians get ‘tongues’ and other Christians get a different ‘gift’?
  • Has speaking in tongues ‘ceased’? Some Christians say it has and even use a scripture to back up their position. Please help me understand!
  • Understanding confusing scriptures about speaking in Tongues
  • Does speaking in tongues always require interpretation?
  • Are there any benefits to my Christian life to speaking in tongues?
  • Some churches all pray and sing in tongues at the same time. I’ve heard this is unscriptural. Please can you clarify.
  • I’ve heard that speaking in tongues is ‘of the devil’. Is this true and can you help me understand? It’s made me afraid of tongues because I don’t want to be used by the devil.
